L20010 Transient Flow of Gas

Developments are necessary to apply automation concepts to the gas industry, in this case, a mathematical model for a pipeline system. This report has two purposes. First, it is a survey of the research conducted in the PRCI NX-37 Transient Flow Study in 1962. Then enough details are presented on the two major computational techniques developed (the special numerical integration and the transfer function) to enable those interested persons within the gas industry to duplicate the techniques.
