L20269 Design Manual for Two Phase Gas-Liquid Flow in Pipelines
The purpose of this second volume of a 2-volume publication on two phase gas-liquid flow is to reduce the results of the research project to a practical design tool. The design method presented in this report is based on a simple correlation, developed in Volume 1, which does not require a knowledge of the type of gas-liquid flow in the pipeline. From external conditions, the properties of the gas and liquid at pipeline conditions are calculated. Using the equations presented, it is then possible to calculate a two-phase Reynolds number and to obtain the two-phase friction factor from correlation. Methods of handling pressure loss due to elevation changes and acceleration are also provided. The method presented here has been successfully tested on a variety of 6 through 16 inch field lines.
