L22278 Emissions Measurement Manual for Natural Gas Pipeline Compressor Stations

This manual is intended to assist emissions testing personnel with preparing, measuring, and calculating exhaust emission rates from piston and gas turbine compressor engines. This manual applies to engines ranging in horsepower from 500 hp to 10,000 hp and natural gas fired turbines ranging from 1,000 hp to 30,000 hp. The chemicals of interest are: CO, NOx, hydrocarbons, non-methane hydrocarbons (NMHC), and CO2. This manual also discusses instrument specifications for obtaining the appropriate measurement equipment, and recommends engine test points. Several computer programs are included to assist test crews and project engineers in calculating emission rates. One section of the appendix is devoted to on-site manual and computer calculation techniques using as-measured emissions data.
