L51422 Welding REM Treated PL Steels with GMAW-S Process

The fundamental weld metal deposition behavior of the short-circuiting GMAW-S process has been investigated for changes in electrode composition and polarity, shielding gas composition, welding speed and heat input (voltage & current). The results have been applied to analyzing the arc physics and resulting metal deposition characteristics when welding rare earth (RE) treated pipeline steels.
