L51788 Repair of Line Pipe with Dents and Scratches

$445.00

The repair of dents in an operating line presents the pipeline engineer with a difficult problem: should it be cut out, sleeved and the sleeve infiltrated with epoxy grout to prevent the dent from flexing, or can it be left as is. Obviously, being able to determine that a dent as found can be safely left in could lead to significant savings in maintenance cost depending on the condition of the line. But what if there is a shallow gouge (scored metal) in the dent? Under what circumstances can these be dressed (removed by grinding) and the dent left in an operating line. This report evaluates repair techniques that are viable.
