NG-18-102-R01 The Importance of Temperature with Respect to Stress-Corrosion Cracking of Pipelines

This report describes the various ways in which temperature influences stress-corrosion cracking in pipelines and outlines a method for predicting how much benefit can be expected from lowering the temperature. In considering what to do about temperature, it should be remembered that the other four factors are equally important, and control of one or more of them offers alternative methods for controlling stress-corrosion cracking.
