NG-18-23-R01 Fabricated Branch Connections in High Yield Strength Run Pipe

The primary objective of this report is to evaluate the applicability of the present rules in USAS B31.8-1968 to fabricated, pad, or saddle-reinforced branch connections in high-yield-strength grades of run pipe. Service experience and test data are reviewed. The implications of tests on pipe with a crack therein with respect to fabricated branch connections are discussed.
