NG-18-902-R02 Laboratory Studies Relating to Stress Corrosion Cracking on the Moomba-Sydney Pipeline
$150.00
After a brief summary of the service failure of the Moomba-Sydney pipeline in July 1962, and the distribution of cracks in adjacent regions, the results from subsequent laboratory studies are indicated. These included measurements of the susceptibilities to stress corrosion cracking of steels from the failure region and elsewhere on the original pipeline, a sample of steel from the by-pass subsequently built, and samples of steels representing the replacement section of the pipeline, using the tapered specimen technique.
