The main objective of this study was to investigate the collapse of thick-walled tubes under combined axial tension and pressure. A combined analytic and experimental approach was adopted. The D\/t range of interest was 10-40.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eA number of collapse tests were conducted using small diameter tubing. Careful measurements of geometrical and material parameters were carried out before each collapse test. Tension-pressure collapse envelopes were obtained for tubes of different D\/t. Collapse tests involving different loading paths as well as initially ovalized tubes were carried out.
