PR-266-11210-R01 Modeling of NSCR Performance with Exhaust Gas Mixtures from Natural Gas Fueled Engines
$50.00
This research seeks to simulate the NSCR system for use in treating exhaust from natural gas engines. It considers two separate parts of the system: the oxygen sensor and the catalyst responsible for reacting the pollutants (often called the three-way catalyst). A model for the universal exhaust gas oxygen (UEGO) sensor developed previously was fit to literature data and tested with field data. In addition, a kinetic model accounting for both methane chemistry and NOx reduction has been constructed from published reaction mechanisms, tested against available literature data for methane oxidation, and used to predict NSCR performance when treating natural gas engine exhaust under a variety of conditions.
