PR-268-134501-R01 Pipeline Seismic Design and Assessment Guideline

This project provides an update to the 2004 PRCI document Seismic Guidelines for the Design and Assessment of Natural Gas and Liquid Hydrocarbon Pipelines (2004 Seismic Guidelines). The 2004 PRCI Seismic Guidelines were prepared over a three-year period from 1998 to 2001 and represented the state of practice at that time. The 2016 revision to the PRCI Seismic Guidelines was largely completed in 2014 and similarly represents the state of practice at the time of the revisions. The 2017 revision is intended to provide a consistent basis for defining project-specific design procedures and requirements to assure acceptable pipeline performance under a wide variety of potential seismic hazards. In addition, some appendices that were judged to provide little added value have been removed.
