This review places the MAT-8 fracture model in context with pre-existing technology. The benefit of this research is the creation of a significantly more accurate model to predict burst pressure of pipes with longitudinal seam weld flaws. Increased accuracy in predictions will improve the integrity of seam welded pipe.
