PR-703-21202-R01 Fuel Reforming as an Alternative Fuel for Large Bore Reciprocating Engines

$100.00

A literature review is performed that seeks to evaluate the feasibility of reforming natural gas into syngas or hydrogen for the purposes of providing fuel to compressor station large-bore 2-stroke reciprocating piston engines. Specific topics examined include reformer technologies, impact of hydrogen/natural and syngas/natural gas blends on engine performance and emissions, and implementation feasibility issues. The literature review shows there are both positive and negative impacts of reformed natural gas as a fuel, so application-specific analysis must be performed.
